Let’s start out today with a bit of NFL trivia, something that the NFL is aware of but doesn’t act like it. Can you guess what headline Bloomberg Businessweek ran just two seasons ago?
Here it is: “The NFL Is Growing Only Because of Women”
You see, at issue were the many controversy’s surrounding the NFL’s string of image-wrecking missteps, many of which might alienate women, and this important fact: The NFL’s future depends on female fans.
When the 2016 regular season begins, our “backup” quarterback Colt McCoy will be celebrating his 30th birthday. Being a University of Texas ex-student and fan, I have been a Colt McCoy fan for years. Hook’em HORNS.
Kirk Cousins may have finally been chosen to be the starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins last season, but the first half of 2015 came off as clumsy as a pig on ice skates. In game One the Skins managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory over Miami. After 5 more games the record stood at 2 wins and four losses.
Why the rough start? Two things stood out:
Kirk threw 8 interceptions in 6 games – but was that cause, or just the symptom?
Kirk didn’t get to practice at all with the first string before the start of the regular season – definitely not a symptom, and arguably the most likely cause of the 6 game “3 Stooges Marathon”.
As you know Minicamp is over and there is a 6 week break before Redskins Training Camp in Richmond, Va. on or about July 28th, 2016. Currently, there is a 90 man roster going into training camp. Before 4 p.m. ET, on September 1st, all NFL clubs must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 75 players on the active list. It’s cut-down time in the NFL. Sept. 3: Final NFL Preseason games. Then on September 5th, before 4 p.m. ET, clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List.
The description of a Master Chef, or “Chef de Cuisine” if you prefer is the person in charge of all activities related to the restaurant kitchen including menu creation, management of kitchen staff, ordering and purchasing of inventory, and even plating design.
XX Josh Norman, all-pro cornerback from the Carolina Panthers, signed with our Washington Redskins on Friday 04-22-16. His contract basically is for five years and 75 million dollars, with 50 big ones guaranteed.
Sorry Governor Inslee, it looks like the Redskins just reinstated the “Capital Punishment Defense”…
