So far this season the Carolina Panthers have been lucky, real lucky. They won a lot of close games, but they came close to being beaten a number of times too. The Panthers only beat Seattle by 4 points, the Saints by 5 points, and the Colts by 3 points. This time Riverboat Ron’s luck may just run out
Sunday our Washington Redskins showed us that Jay Gruden’s offense is explosive when the players know the system and play at the level expected of NFL players. I knew the hiring of Jay Gruden would bring Washington the same explosive offense he had with the Cincinnati Bengals – which helped them to 3 straight playoff appearances when he was the OC.
Cam Newton led his Carolina Panthers to a 33 to 20 win over the Washington Redskins and showed he is the “real deal”. Most of his passes were perfectly thrown and although the Redskins defense had the receiver covered, the passes were thrown so only the Panther receiver could touch them. Some had a lot of heat on them too and Cam ended up with a 127.5 passer-rating; he also had a 16 yard touchdown run. Continue reading
