Week two has our Washington Redskins facing another hard-hitting, good defense. The St. Louis Rams are coming off an overtime victory over Seattle Seahawks. The Redskins are coming off a loss, but we found out our Oline is improved, and we have a strong running-game.
Alfred “A Train” Morris rushed over 100 yards and “Skins had about 150 total rushing yards. Actually more than that but penalties wiped out some positive yardage. Usually when your runningback rushes over 100 yards, you win that game, but penalites were the main cause of the loss. Penalties cost us 21 points in my view. Redskins had a 10 to 0 lead early in the game and led 10 to 7 at the half.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins managed the game well completing 21 of 31 passes, including a beautiful touchdown pass in the endzone with “touch” on the ball. He did throw two interceptions, but both passes were on target and just good defense with luck. It was not like he threw bad passes or threw into double coverage, etc.
At any rate, Miami left winners but knew they should have lost that game as Redskins had won time-of-possession and a lot more rushing yards. “Capital Punishment Defense” only gave up 10 points and special teams gave up a punt return touchdown. I believe our defense is as good as any team in the NFL and will keep us in games all season.
Redskins have some injured players who will not play vs the Rams, but we also are getting back Bashaud Breeland, speedy and hard-hitting young defensive back, cornerback. I expect the Rams to be tough and physical, but we are also and will not be intimidated.
Keys to a Redskins victory are same as last week. No mistakes, few or no penalties, pound the rock and control the time-of-possession,long drives resulting in a touchdown. Redskins defense has to hurry, hit, rattle, and sack Rams quarterback Kevin Kolb. HAIL HTTR.
