Washington Redskins 2011 Thanksgiving Status

As of this writing, the Washington Redskins record is 3 and 7 and in the basement of the NFC East Division. Coming off their 6th straight loss, losing another game to the Dallas Cowboys they could have and should have won. Those who are negative will say this has been a “wasted season”, and blame and point fingers.

Those who really know football can see progress and a foundation of a great team, a team who can stand up to adversity, a team with character, a team that will fight just a hard every game. In my view, we saw a glimpse of a good Redskins quarterback, Rex Grossman against the Dallas Cowboys.

We saw our offense overcoming injuries from weeks 3 and 4 and 5 and closer to being the offense we expect and need, scoring 24 points. I believe this offense when healthy and with more practice will be as explosive as any in the league. More points, less interceptions and a running game for balance and to control the time of possession.

When our “HOGS”, our Oline gets back healthy and dominate along with a great defense we already have under Jim Haslett and an explosive offense. Add to that a trio of fresh legged running backs and two good tightends in Fred Davis and Chris Cooley, and we will dominate and win it all. Yes, I am saying this team can win it all, even a Super Bowl.

I believe that Bruce Allen, son of George Allen, and Mike Shanahan will give us the best players and a great draft including a promising young talented and gifted quarterback for the future. I see the Redskins finishing this season strong, spoiling the Giants and Eagles hopes for the NFC East title and getting better. Next season without a lockout and with the normal programs, mini-camps, two-a-days, etc we will be ready to be the “Beast of the East” again and everyone will FEAR THE REDSKINS.

Its time for true, all-weather Washington Redskins fans to accept the fact that many injuries caused a losing season, but was a test that proved valor and dedication and never quit fighting, never giving up and proving this team has character, and can endure adversity. This team needs to know they have our respect and our loyalty and support, even though the record this year is not good. HAIL, HTTR
