That of course was Skip Bayless and Shannon on the “Undisputed” show before the Giants and Redskins met for battle in Week 3. I love the confidence that Skip showed in the team, and thought you might enjoy savoring that moment with me.
As a die-hard Washington Redskins fan and sportswriter, I really hate to write an article after a loss, especially after losing our first two regular season games and being 0 and 2. I really hate losing to what I see as an inferior team as we did against the Cowboys. I know our team has the potential be the highest scoring team in the NFL. We simply underachieved in both our loses on both sides of the ball.
It just doesn’t get any better than a Redskins-Cowboys football game. Our Washington Redskins are coming off a disappointing loss last Monday night against the Pittsburg Steelers, The Dallas Cowboys lost a close game to the division rival New York Giants. However, if you have a pulse, you know when the Redskins and Cowboys get it on, both teams come to play. We want a victory and make the Cowboys zero wins and two losses, both in the division. A win will get us 1 +1, and 1 + 0 in our division.
This 69 year young Washington Redskins fan became a fan in 1969 when famous Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi came out of retirement to be the new head-coach of the Washington Redskins. I had liked the Packers and their Green Bay sweep fascinated me and the famous ICE BOWL (Championship game between Dallas at Green Bay on the coldest day ever, frozen field) was my favorite game at the time.
Of the four preseason games this one will probably be the most valuable to our starting players and to our coaching staff. I believe we will our starters at least the first half before coaches start “experimenting, trying different packages, and backup players. Hopefully we will see our 2016 Washington Redskins play a penalty-free game dominating the line of scrimmage and scoring points. Also, a top secondary and a powerful front 7 defense is desirable.
